I’m Alea, creator of the Ag with Al, a personal blog where I advocate for the family farm in America, share the country girl lifestyle, and give updates on my family's farm. I grew up in a small town in central Kansas, so to say agriculture is a part of my life is no surprise. I grew up on a farm where we did a little bit of everything haying alfalfa, brome, straw, and prairie hay, along with raising bottle claves and harvesting wheat and soybeans. My family purchased our perfect seventy acres of land in May of 2015. Since 2015 we have been on a journey to create our dream homestead. When the pandemic hit I was once again given the chance to dive back into my agricultural roots. I found a true passion for the agriculture industry and now attend Kansas State University where I am studying Agricultural Communications and Journalism, with a certificate in Social Media Management. So join me on my journey as I explore all things faith, family, farming, and photography!
I have been incredibly blessed to grow up with such a loving family. My parents have been happily married for 21 years. Being the oldest of three, I have a younger sister Aubree who is currently a freshman in college, and a younger brother Lane, who is a junior in high school.
On our family-run farm, we do all kinds of jobs such as, raising livestock, bailing hay, wheat harvest, and so much more. Check out the blog page to see what we have been up to most recently.
I grew up going to church so faith has always played an important role in my life. I believe that Jesus Christ is my savior and that as believers it is our greatest gift to share the glory of the gospel with others. I am the co-founder of a bible study for high school girls, and I am currently active in a college-age Bible study.
I found a love for photography through watching my grandfather. His passion for creating inspired me to find where agriculture meets art. Photography allowed me to bring together two of the things I love most, agriculture and art. Now through Ag with Al photography, I enjoy capturing livestock, farm life, landscapes, rodeos, and senior sessions.
